Charnley Forest Natural Stone is no longer mined due to the fact there is no more left as they ran out in the 19th century – The only way to get what is considered one of the finest stones is to buy a rare used example. If you are luck you might find one in pretty good condition like this example which is also good larger size measuring 6″ x 2″ and has been dressed flat one side which took some doing as it’s literally hard as rock.
